JAG Nevada receives national recognition for 7th consecutive year
JAG Nevada has achieved the Six of Six metric for the 7th year in a row, meeting or exceeding the annual metrics established by Jobs for America’s Graduates, the national affiliate, based in Washington, D.C.
All of these metrics add up to lifelong success for our youth!
State-Wide Training for JAG Nevada staff
To launch another excellent school year, Specialists and staff from JAG Nevada convened in North Las Vegas this July for the annual Summer Training.
Specialists and staff attended workshops to help build better lesson plans, exchange best practices and define culture.
Thank you to JAG Nevada partners who attended and delivered messages of gratitude and inspiration: Eduardo Menchaca, SilverSummit Healthplan; Leslie Nix, City of North Las Vegas; Ana Munoz, Caesar’s Entertainment, Inc.; Casey Flair, Aristocrat Technologies, Inc.; Angel Williams, NV Energy; and Aaron Krolikowski, United Way of Southern Nevada.
Thank you to Aliante Casino Hotel for hosting. We can’t wait to put the plans into action when we head back to classrooms!
2018 Grad Lands Dream Career with Caesar’s
We caught up with Maritza, a 2018 graduate of JAG Nevada, who is now working in her dream career as a Catering Convention Services Manager at Caesar’s.
While attending Basic High School, Martiza hadn’t made plans after graduation and wasn’t sure about attending college. Once she joined the JAG program, she became engaged in school and took AP and honors classes to challenge herself academically. She made it one of her goals to apply for the Promise scholarship at College of Southern Nevada.
Her plans after graduation evolved to include studying hospitality and communications – and now, 6 years later, she has landed the career she wanted!
