JAG Nevada Alum Lands Fortune 500 and Beyond 

Before she even earned a degree, Tiana was landing high-paying jobs with Fortune 500 employers, thanks to the competitive edge she gained through JAG Nevada. 

The mentorship Tiana received from her JAG Specialist, combined with structured career exploration helped her find direction. As she built skills and confidence, she discovered that there are multiple pathways to success.

“I appreciated that JAG didn’t just talk about success, it actively prepared students for the workforce through professional development, leadership training and real-world exposure," she said.

After graduation, Tiana enrolled in the Tesla Manufacturing Development (MDP) program. Midway through, she was offered a competitive full-time position at Tesla’s partner company, Panasonic Energy, based on her past performance and experience. She accepted the position, accelerating her career in a Fortune 500 environment.

The foundation JAG Nevada provides by teaching skills like interview preparation, professionalism, and career readiness helped Tiana confidently navigate corporate environments and secure high-paying roles like her current position at United Health Care in financial analysis and operations. Now she is pursuing a degree in Business Administration to expand her strategic and financial expertise.

JAG Nevada Career Exploration in Full Swing

Students from JAG Nevada programs around the state are making Career Exploration trips and activities a priority as we round out the school year. 

Carson Silver students toured Tesla where they learned about the benefits of careers in advanced manufacturing and the MDP apprenticeship program.

Churchill County JAG students who were accepted to University of Nevada, Reno, were able to go on a private UNR trip where they received assistance with everything related to admissions and also received a campus tour.

Students from the JAG program at Spanish Springs High School also visited UNR for a full campus tour and learned about programs and opportunities. They also had the chance to speak directly with current college students about what life at UNR is really like and spent some time soaking in campus life. 

Fernley High School students attended the Hammers and Hope event at Truckee Meadows Community College and heard from inspiring women who lead successful careers in the construction industry. Students received information about high-paying careers and attended a career fair.

Nevada Gold Mines Spend Time Impacting JAG Nevada  

Thank you to our partners Nevada Gold Mines for visiting the JAG Nevada students at McDermitt. We appreciate you for sharing your time and expertise with the students and providing a firsthand look at the variety and many benefits of mining careers.

Leslie Goicoechea, Manager, Community Engagement and Development, Nevada Gold Mines, hosted JAG Nevada Workforce Development Specialist Maria Rous at the Henderson Chamber of Commerce Economic Development and Small Business Award Dinner. We appreciate being included for community events to help support Nevada's future workforce.
