JAG Nevada programs from around the state have been holding Initiation & Installation Ceremonies for students, families, friends, community partners and stakeholders from across Nevada.
A joint I & I was held November 10, in Las Vegas for the Clark County programs and hosted more than 600 attendees, featuring keynote speaker Sen. Edgar Flores, and distinguished guests. Thank you to our sponsor, UNLV, and to all those who participated and came out to support the programs. A joint I & I was held in Reno on November 19, for JAG Nevada students at McQueen and Reno high schools. Speakers were Grant Denton, McQueen Principal Freeman Holbrook and Reno Assistant Principal Amy Hinge.
During the ceremony, students reaffirm their commitment to JAG’s Four Career Association Goals: Leadership and Development, Career Preparation, Civic Awareness, and Social Awareness. These goals guide their activities throughout the year, fostering personal and professional growth. Programs induct new Career Association officers and recite the JAG Creed, followed by a reception for students and attendees.

JAG Nevada Alum building a future in the trades Karter, a 2025 graduate of Moapa Valley High School, is already building a strong and promising future. Shortly after graduation, he secured employment with Granite Construction in Las Vegas, where he earns $38 per hour and works approximately 50 hours each week. His dedication and drive have also earned him acceptance into a trade school, Richard W. Dieleman Training & Education Center, starting in January. He is also earning his Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) —a goal he is on track to achieve in just a few short months. Karter is well on his way to a successful career at an impressively young age. His journey is a powerful example of the opportunities JAG Nevada helps students discover during high school, combined with the ongoing support that continues after graduation to help make those goals a reality.
We are incredibly proud of Karter’s hard work, determination, and the bright future he is creating for himself. Keep up the amazing work, Karter! |
