Be the Reason We Rise: Change Lives Through Education

JAG Nevada has a proven track record of empowering our students with the skills they need to graduate and launch meaningful careers.

Over 98% of our students graduate and 90% go on to achieve positive outcomes: Employment, post-secondary education, career training, military enlistment, or a combination of these goals. JAG students prosper after high school, but we need your help to continue to reach Nevada's youth. Costs and needs are increasing. Help us provide the same level of service and mentorship to students and recent grads.

With your support, we can continue changing lives — opening doors to opportunity, leadership, and lifelong success for young Nevadans.

Your donation fuels mentorship, career readiness, and life skills that help students not only dream — but achieve.

Give today and be part of the future we're building — one student at a time.

Thank you!

Perea elected Chair of JAG Nevada Board of Directors

Please join us in welcoming Dennis Perea as the new Chair of the JAG Nevada Board of Directors. Perea brings decades of experience in workforce development, public service, and financial management to the role, along with a deep, long-standing commitment to the success of Nevada’s students.

Perea holds Seat 4 on the Ely City Council and serves on the Governor’s
Workforce Development Board, where he chairs the Workforce and Economic
Development Sub-Committee. He also sits on the Nevada Northern Railway Board of
Directors. Previously, Perea served as Deputy Director and Interim Director of the
Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation (DETR), where he helped launch the Jobs for Nevada’s Graduates program.

“When Governor Sandoval wished to start JAG Nevada, he tapped Dennis to play a pivotal role in establishing this life-changing program for Nevada's youth,” said Dr. René Cantú, Executive Director of JAG Nevada. “Dennis drove around the entire state with me as we created partnerships with 14 Nevada school districts and made JAG Nevada a public benefit corporation of true impact!”

Perea said, “I am honored to serve as Board Chair for JAG Nevada. JAG’s proven model changes lives by surrounding young people with the guidance, skills, and work-based learning they need to succeed. I look forward to working with the board, staff, educators, and industry partners to grow JAG’s impact for Nevada students.”

A U.S. Navy veteran, Perea holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Management Information Systems from Southern Utah University. His public-sector and financial background, combined with statewide workforce leadership, position him to advance JAG Nevada’s mission and strengthen cross-sector collaboration for youth career pathways.

JAG Nevada’s Board and leadership team will work with Chair Perea over the coming months to set strategic priorities focused on student outcomes, employer engagement, and sustainable growth across urban and rural school districts.

JAG Nevada Alum Grows his Career, returns to CCSD

Remember JADE? Jade is a 2023 JAG Nevada graduate of Del Sol Academy who followed his passion for music to work as a freelance AV technician and musician. We last saw him working big events for the Killers, the Raiders and the Vegas Golden Knights.

Jade credits his JAG Specialist Malcom Wilks for inspiring his career choice and helping him find a college program that aligned with his goals. And now Jade has taken his career to a new level. He recently started a position with the Clark County School District.

Jade said, "I am now an AV tech with CCSD. The change from my normal freelancing to a traditional job was one of stability. With the freelance world being so unpredictable at times it was a struggle to make ends meet and accomplish certain goals that I had set for myself."

His new position with the district allows Jade to have a stable schedule so he can work to fulfill his past goals and strive to set new ones for the future. Congratulations, Jade. We wish you great success.
