Six of Six Goals Met!

We did it. The whole J4NG team pulled together in service! Six of Six Achieved! You may recall, we used to have 5 of 5, but an additional goal was added this year, and our J4NG staff guided our young people to achievements that surpass all 6 out of 6! See the graphic above for what this means for the youth we serve!

J4NG Students Visit Tesla Gigafactory

In May 2023, J4NG sent its seventh cohort to participate in the Tesla career exploration trip. Participants who were pre-selected for Tesla’s Manufacturing Development program flew to Reno to tour the Gigafactory, visit Truckee Meadows Community College where they will take classes in Advanced Manufacturing and tour the apartment complex where they will live.

With J4NG’s assistance, the Telsa apprentices will relocate to Reno in August to begin this program.  Because of J4NG’s unique 12-month follow-up period, they will continue to receive support as they navigate this career pathway.

United Way Support Helps Students Succeed

J4NG receives funding from United Way of Southern Nevada to support programming at one of our high schools. Here is an example of the impact of this funding.

Karma has been in the J4NG program for two years. He works at Subway and recently received a promotion and raise!!

Karma has put his J4NG skills to the test and has been a great success. Karma plans to attend college in Fall 2023, after receiving assistance from J4NG to submit college applications and apply for FAFSA.

J4NG continues to provide support and guidance to Karma as well as all other students in the program for at least 12 months after graduation.  Karma is shown here participating in the Public Speaking competition at the 2023 Career Development Conference.

Laura and David Bombara, longtime supporters of J4NG, have created a scholarship to honor the life and work of David’s sister and Clark County teacher Carla Lopez.

This scholarship was awarded to students in the J4NG program at Pahrump Valley High School. Winners were chosen based on the demonstration of resiliency, a positive attitude, generosity, and teamwork as a means of overcoming difficult circumstances.

Thank you to Laura and David for their generosity in supporting Nevada’s youth.  If you would like to find out more, contact us at info@j4ng.org.
